Youth Create Murals of Hope

The Westlawn Community Garden is home to a new mural created by neighborhood youth through a program conducted by Safe & Sound with Silver Spring Neighborhood Center and supported by Potawatomi Hotel & Casino's Heart of Canal Program. The teens worked with youth organizer Joshua Jenkins and artist Tia Richardson to design the mural to express their hopes for the community. The six panels of the mural reflect positive attributes, such as peace, communication, teamwork, and healthy living. View news coverage of the unveiling here.
