Carmen Northwest Middle School Celebrates STEM

Thanks to Marquette University’s Opus College of Engineering and Johnson Controls, students at Carmen Northwest Middle School recently took part in a FIRST Lego League Tournament. FIRST Lego League Tournaments offer students the opportunity to practice imaginative thinking and teamwork, to address real-world problems. Carmen students participated in a challenge that involved designing a whole house water filter to solve the problem of lead in drinking water – a critically important issue in many Milwaukee neighborhoods.
